A Sanctuary in the middle of nowhere

We live in a world where every single place has been explored. To find a place in India, that has been untouched felt so delightful. The happiness of stumbling onto such a place even felt divine, the quiet of the surroundings, the flowing river and the sounds of birds chirping were heavenly to say the least.

I am the kind of person that generally loves grandeur, it is in my bucket list to be able to visit the seven wonders of the world. Ever since I started working, I explored all the things that I have wanted to do that I assumed would make me happy, I shopped clothes for a while till that lost its charm, then I started buying shoes and indulging in food.

Nothing gave me pure joy. Over the next few years, I learnt that I craved more Experiences.

I always liked travelling. For me travelling is not just about visiting new places it is about the experience. Trying new cuisines, exploring the local culture, being present during sunrises and sunsets is what makes travel such an addiction for me. Moreover, I feel experience trumps other things in life

On one such day, while we were exploring the banks on Kaveri, we came across this picturesque place. It is located towards the backwaters of Ranganathittu bird sanctuary (located about 18kms from Mysore). The place is completely pristine and pure. We arrived early morning for a walk on the landscape, but spent 2 hours just admiring the nature.

From the main road you have to cross an ashram to reach this spot. Then its a single trail that leads you to this paradise. It is a simple and a quaint place but the sound of the water running and the birds around you will leave you space and time to be with yourself and your thoughts. We could spot a variety of birds flying about looking for food, building nests and feeding their little ones. We were even blessed with a glimpse of a peacock!

Although this sanctuary might appear plain at first sight, a simple river bank. But the feeling you get while you are in that place is simply sublime. You will surely lose yourself in the moment and feel closer to nature!
